Drawing and doodling during grade school classes often got him in trouble with his academic instructors. Still, from early on it was apparent that art was his true passion.<\/p>\n<p>On the recommendation of his grade school art teacher he pursued an art major in high school. He spent four years in the college prep art program at Moeller High School. Working life began right after graduation with a temporary job in the Art Department at The Cincinnati Milling Machine Company (soon to become Cincinnati Milacron) working on signage and displays for Family Day at the Mill. After that temporary job was completed he moved to the Grinder Division. While many friends were going to school John worked on center-type grinding machines, and saved money for college.<\/p>\n<p>Upon his acceptance in the Graphic Design program at the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning he found a ready outlet, not only for his creative side, but also discovered a passion for visual communication. Unfortunately, he quickly ran out of money and withdrew from school. Another two years in the working world allowed him to save enough to reenter the program. Then, with the opportunities in the Co-op Program, he was able to complete school. He graduated with no outstanding loans or debt.<\/p>\n<p>For the next 18 years John worked as a Graphic Designer.
